History

Since its inception in 1949, Sacred Heart Catholic School strived to provide a quality faith-filled education for all of its students. Our students, faculty and staff come from many diverse cultural backgrounds and a variety of neighborhoods that make up the Diocese of Brooklyn/Queens. This combination of diversity has been beneficial to the growth of our school community. Our educational policy calls for participation on the part of teachers, priests and parents in the formation and evaluation of curriculum guidelines in conjunction with State and Diocesan mandates.

In September 2013, Sacred Heart Catholic School was converted to Sacred Heart Catholic Academy under the Diocese of Brooklyn "Preserving the Vision" initiative to ensure the future of Catholic education within the Diocese of Brooklyn.  As Sacred Heart Catholic Academy, we continue  to strive to instruct, instill, and inspire each other to be responsible, productive, Catholic Christian members of society.

Higher educational facilities have also partnered with the Academy over the years to enhance the educational opportunities provided to our students, institutions like St. John’s University, Fordham University and New York University. Catapult Mentors have also been active partners in our educational journey.
